1) What's your favorite Scripture? And why?

Matthew 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Um, I like the scripture where it says wide is the path and narrow is the door.
Symbolic meaning because it says everyone can come to Him. At certain parts of your life when we are down we can call on Jesus as our Lord and Savior. At one point we all have to call on him. There is a wide sea of people but not everyone is going to get in. When we give account of our life and what we do in his name will be symbolic who get in. On the flip side, where Jesus is on the cross with the criminal who called on him and was with Him in paradise. That line of people even though it’s vast, only a few will get in.

As I look back on my life, I spent a life living for Shawn Ray and now its living for the Lord. I now study and look for those nuggets that help me living day to day, minute to minute. It only takes that guy on the freeway to slip up. I constantly look for those nuggets. Just like there was not a favorite exercise to build my body, but several to get the right look. In the same way we need the word to build our spirit.

2) Who were your childhood heroes?

Mohammed Ali is and was representative to me as an athlete. Martin Luther King, someone I never met but fought the good fight and stands out for me for different reasons. Martin Luther King struggled for other people not for himself. He changed the world. Bruce Lee as a actor, didn’t speak English but he did what no one had ever done. As a kid and as adult, I was conscious of them and emulated them.

3) If you could meet anyone from the Bible, who would it be and why? (not Jesus)

Joseph was a lesson in discipline, faith and commitment. Any person under any other circumstances would have crumbled. He was thrown out by his own family, sold into slavery and rose to the top of the food chain. Even his running from Pottiffer was an example. He could have stood for the unjust accusation but he ran and took the chance, stepped out. He changed the course of history. He didn’t quit and let circumstances get him down but he kept on. He was one of God’s students, allowing suffering to result in rewards. We are all called to suffer and pick up our cross.

4) What is a typical day in your life like?

We have a baby on the way so I am preoccupied with being the man and woman in the house. I also am involved in four bible studies. I spent a lifetime of waking up going to the gym and then sleeping and feeding my body. Now I feed my soul.
I wake up and read my bible, go to bible study, come home and make breakfast for my wife. We are making a new house together.
When my wife got pregnant, I started looking for a house and we are building it together, Decorating the baby’s room, my room, frontyard, backyard, all of that. It’s a huge project for me. At 6:00 am bible study, come home make breakfast for my wife and then errands and everything that needs to be done. We are in that "waiting stage" of the pregnancy, waiting for our
baby. I am also putting on a charity golf tournament (1st Annual Shawn Ray Pro Fitness Golf Invitational Proceeds Benefiting CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County) in Yorba Linda this Friday. It’s very busy like putting on a contest, guest baskets, reservations, sponsors. It’s been a blessing that for the past 8 months I haven’t worked out or been to the gym. I am working with Stronghold ministries and Rock Community Church. I’m building the inside now.

Part of my ministry has been before the major shows, we independently pray with the competitors, before the Arnold and the Olympia in the name Jesus Christ. Also the women, the fitness and figure competitors, we also lift them up in prayer. Woven into the bodybuilding fabric, it’s all done in the name of Jesus. Not all are receptive to that because there are so much other stuff out there, more fashionable stuff. But we always start out with prayer. It has brought other bodybuilders to Jesus and brought him into their lives. 20 years ago I would not have been in this position to do this but I have now become a tool. I have been blessed 10 fold by being able to see people come to the Lord.

Bodybuilding is such a vanity sport and I have been judged even down to my personality but God uses me for my thick skin. He has put these things on my shoulders and given me the word’s to speak to these people and being an example. We all can look back and wished we have done things different. I wish I would have picked up a bible when I picked up a dumbbell. I wished I had come to the Lord sooner but the time was not right. I had to go through things to get to here. I have taken a hiatus from bodybuilding to balance things, strengthen and seek Him out.

A friend in Arkansas once sat me down and asked me if I had a relationship with Jesus Christ and where I would spend eternity. I said, "of course !" but knowing him and making him your Savior is totally different. Living for Him is totally different. It’s not religion. Athletes block out a lot, family, friends, spiritual relationship for their physical well being. It’s not all about me, and I don’t care about my appearance anymore. There was a sea of people who had been praying for me. I had knocked on the door and it was open. I started back on day one and all I could do was read, the living Word of God. I have been in the word a few years, I guess I am a Jesus Freak. I have just been asked to be a representative for Vyotech Nutritionals. This weekend after the tournament we are going to the Harvest Crusade, Greg Lory which should be great.

5) What Biblical figure do you most identify with.

Probably Saul, I would say I was a hard person, I didn’t persecute people but maybe Peter would be closer. I think that I was just going about my business doing my job and not paying attention to anything but when I got exposure to Jesus. I picked it up and ran with it. When I do something I lead the way. In the same way Peter was a leader. He was the first one to run into the tomb, first to deny Christ and also the first to say he would die for him. He was human. Sometime we fall short, I would love to have the same blessing as him. He was a leader not a follower. He knew who Jesus was but he wasn’t perfect. We can all be taken down with the best intentions. You have to meditate on the word and know Satan is out there to challenging us. Our flesh is weak. You see the love Jesus had for him with his forgiveness of him. We are all susceptible to sin and God can use that. At certain times Jesus humbled him. There is going to be sufferings. Peter rebuilt after each trial and suffering. It shows us what we are going to do when we fall. Pick ourselves up dust off and go on. He thought he had blown it totally but he was still the first on in the tomb. Jesus knows we are going to blow it but we need to focus on Him.

6) What trait do you like most about yourself?

I can recognize who I am. Some people don’t know what they’re roll is. As a kid, I was always the top of my game. In sports and I was always a leader. My task has always been a leader. I don’t wait for things to happen, I make it happen. I ask all the questions and get the knowledge. Solve the problem, take the bull by the horns. When I see things wrong I want to right them. I like that I am a leader because I can’t deny it.

7) What trait do you like least?

In being a leader, it’s hard for others to get a word in edge wise. I am working on being a better listener. When you have a certain idea and it’s hard for others to tweak it when you don‘t listen. The bible study classes have helped me to be a better listener. I have learned to implement being the last to speak instead of the first. The quiet ones get asked their opinion. That is the person who absorbs the pros and cons and knows the whole picture.

8) How have you been able to represent God in your sport?

I want people to remember me as a representative of Jesus Christ and not Mr. Olympia. We are here but a moment and there for an eternity. I want them to say I met Shawn Ray and he shared Christ with me not he helped me get bigger. I am a seed planter and working to spread the Word of God. When my time comes I want to be prepared, He tells us to be prepared. As part of my preparation, I am praying and sharing with other bodybuilders. I don’t think I will ever be a pastor, if that is my path then that’s ok. But I will be a good disciple. I am here to instruct. Feed my sheep is what He said. I am feeding them what I learn. Taking care of the sheep. I am praying that when I am done with my interest in bodybuilding, I hope that I give them more of Him and less of me, His wisdom and knowledge. That’s why I am learning more so that I can give. Vanity is a sinful platform that they are on. It is so "me" generation that they are in. In the trenches it is very dark, I want to be the one who lead them to light, show them there is a light.

9) If you could change one thing in your sport, what would it be ?

Obviously it is the drugs. I would love to go back in time and put the Genie back in the bottle. There is enough to worry about with food and free weights and when you throw chemical warfare into the mix it takes the health and fitness out of the game. I would like to see better overall testing for Insulin, Pro-Hormone, anabolics, diuretics and lists goes on.

10) If you were to die today and go to heaven, what would you like to hear God say?

The cliché is well done good and faithful servant. I would like to think he would say "I am glad you heard my call." In my world, I played my music loud, self absorbed. I have an ability to focus and tune things out. God doesn’t speak in a loud megaphone voice though and somewhere along the line you have to try and hear it. Hearing that would be great because you have to hear and obey.

Don't be misled into thinking that because some of these guys have taken illegal drugs even as believers that taking illegal drugs is OK with God.
Who of you watched the conference? Ronnie Coleman He once again talked about Jesus and dedicated this show to Him. What do you think about this?

I think it's great that Jesus is being mixed into the bodybuilding scene. Without him, we wouldn't have bodies to build. I think christianity has every right to be a part of bodybuilding as anything else does. If athiests can bodybuild and bomb God, then why can't faithful bodybuilders praise their Lord on television? absolutely. I wonder what the other athletes think when Ronnie talks about Jesus. Most of them will most likely be bored or think that he's a nut but maybe some of them are more receptive. Even if they aren't it's still cool that he simply does it. He just grabs the mic and says what he wants to say this is cool. I see no problem with it...plus, who is really going to say anything bad about Jesus when Ronnie Coleman is talking? I see no problem with it...plus, who is really going to say anything bad about Jesus when Ronnie Coleman is talking? I believe that his beliefs are part of him. The dude pray's before a workout. So why mock him for it????? It's awesome that he finds inspiration to bodybuild from his faith. Even though his body, which devout Christians like himself believe is a temple of God, is chock full of drugs, I still think Ronnie is a good guy. That's true, there is no moral excuse for Christians using illegal drugs, and unfortunatly steriods are classified that way. As for Ronnies personal culpability for doing it, that is up to God to judge. All we can say is that we know doing it is wrong.

8 times Mr Olympia Lee Haney: www.leehaney.com.
There are many great lessons to draw wisdom from in God's word. If you're just getting started in your search for wholeness, I suggest starting with smaller books of the bible, such as I John, II John, III John, Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. Then go back to the gospel books - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books tells of the very character of Jesus Christ - our example. These books will bless your life.

Inspirational Vitamins: Nutrition for the Soul (Some of Lee's Favorite Passages of Scripture)

John 3:16 - tells of God's love for me and you.

Romans 10:9, 10 - shares God's plan of salvation for any that will receive it.

Philippians 4:13 - tells me of the unlimited promises available through my relationship with Jesus Christ, my Savior.

Romans 8:1, 2 - tells me that as I have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of my life, I am not bound to condemnation should I fall short in committing a sin. However, I must be mindful that salvation should not be used as a cloak to knowingly and purposely commit sin.

Psalms 1:1-6 - tells me of the blessing in meditating on the word of God and seeking Godly counsel.

Romans 12:1-2 - tells me to present my body a living sacrifice unto God; not to be used as an object to lust. This passage also tells me of the importance in renewing my mind so that whatever comes out of it is pleasing unto God.

I Timothy 4:8 - says that bodily exercise is good; however, to exercise the inner person with the word of God is most important. This passage speaks to the heart of athletes.

I Peter 5:5, 6 - tells me to keep my ego in check. Because God prefers the humble heart and resist the proud (the guy with the big head). There is no room in the kingdom of God for a big head.

John 14:6 - It tells of the way unto eternal life through our example - Jesus Christ. He not only points the way but more importantly, lived the life of a mortal man, anointed by God, being the very character of God himself. What a wonderful, loving, and giving father.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved me, you , and the people of the world, that he gave his only begotten son." What a wonderful invaluable gift.

BOB BIRDSONG: www.midwestchristianbodybuilding.com/bobbirdsong

1. What is your favorite scripture?

I would have to say 1 Timothy 4:8 - "For bodily exercise profits a little, but godlinessis profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and that which is to come." That's one of my favorites. I have so many of them that I like. But that one was the main one that gave me the strength to carry on with the Lord when I got saved, when I was born again. I was at a book store at the time and this gentleman, he was working there and he gave me that Scripture and it made me think, "is all this exercise really what it's all about? Why am I competing all the time?" I had gone into th ebookstore to get a little Bible and that kind of woke me up a little bit. So what's your favorite?

MCBB: Mine is Mark 10:27 - "But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."

See, there all good. All the Scriptures are good!

2. Who were your childhood heros?

Let's see now. My idols actually, I didn't have heroes. At the time I was 14, I got into bodybuilding and I went out and bought a muscle magazine and I looked through it. I think possibly Arnold Schwarzennegar was one, but he wasn't the first one. Rick Wayne, Steve Reeves and more of the old timers were a few of my idols at the time that I wanted to be like.

3. If you could meet anyone from the bible, other than Jesus, who would it be?

Good question! I think possibly Paul because he was a very humble person and that's kind of like me. He did some great things through God. I would like to be that type of a person where God could use me to do great things to raise Him up in my walk.

4. What is a typical day in your life like?

Reaching out to others during the day. I just got out of massage school about two or three months ago and now I am trying to get into an institution someplace to work as a massage therapist. I don't work out like I used to, I don't eat seven times a day like I used to. I only eat two or three times when I am really hungry.

My mind is focused on my job to meet my family's needs. During that time if I meet people during the day I will share the Lord with them or enlighten them with a word, I will. And I do, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God unto salvation so that is the power. If there is going to be any power in one's life, it is going to be the Word of God in one's life to be used to reach out to somebody the one and only way, I think. 5. Wh
at biblical figure do you most identify with?

I would have to say just being a servant. A servant going through life serving the Lord the best way I can. I am no body special, I mean there were the apostles in the bible that God used to do great things. I look up to them and I try to follow their examples, but I just see myself as a servant doing the best I can for the Lord. Trying to use the word of the Lord as an example throughout the day and making th ebest of the day. So you can say servant!

6. What trait do you like most about yourself?

The fact that God can use a vessel like me using the talent I have as an artist, a past bodybuilder, a massage therapist. For any type of talent that I have available to be used for the power of God to reach out to people out there in life. That's it! A piece of clay with talents that God can use!

7. What trait do you like least about yourself?

Let me think - what do I like least about myself... You know what? I really haven't given that a lot of thought simply because I am trying to focus on the traits that I have that can be used in my life. Not the things that in my life that I like least about myself. There is so little time in life today and there are so many people out there who have needs that I can't really focus on that because there God's word is so powerful and the most in life that you have to reach out to the people who don't have the Lord, that have less than myself. I mean I have two legs and two arms and a mouth and God wants us to use those things to reach out and we can't just hide our light under a bush. We have to let people see it so we have to focus on what we have available to reach out to others so we can lift them up and get them on the path so they can also be out there doing the same thing. Anybody that I reach out to and God blesses and they becomes born again Christians where God can use them too is a blessing to me. But they also need to focus on what God has done for them and get off the thinking about their being least. The bible says the least shall be first, so God will lift them up! The most in life is the power of God in our lives so we just don't have time to focus on the things least in our lives. Lie is too short!

8. How have you been able to represent God in your sport?

As a bodybuilder I have been able to mention my testimony in muscle magazines. When I started winning major contests, I started doing stronger interviews. Back in '75 when I became a born again Christian and I was able to put my testimony of my life and my family in these muscle magazines where the whole world could read it! That was exciting. It opened doors for my family to go around the United States and Canada and to other places that we wouldn't ordinarily go. I had a chance to serve in the Full Gospel Business Man's organization. I went around the United States three or four times, Canada from west to east. I've gone to youth camps, open air crusades, fairs, high schools and gyms. Christian people would invite me to the gyms to do seminars. Christian people there would ask me key questions to open up the testimony that I was able to share in front of people who were not Christian. I was just excited to do what I could for the Lord and do the best that I could do!

9. If you could change one thing about your sport, what would it be?

You know I was just fortunate to go through life and spend the time in my sport that I was able to do what I could do to support my family and for the Lord. Today the sport has gotten so out of hand with what you are familiar with; I think we all are. I think it has drawn a lot of attentions today because ot the human growth hormones, the steroids and the things that all these guys are taking today. They are willing to pay a price which is a short-term life for what they thought was a long-term sport. They are willing to pay that price and they will. But through it all I don't think I would do it, well I know I wouldn't go through it all to get the size that they are getting today for the glory that they are wanting today. I don't promote drugs or steroids and truthfully, I admit to having used them in the past, but I don't condone it. Everybody knows that you cannot get to look like you do today and take all the stuff you're taking and say that you are not using. But like I say, it is their career, their life and they are making a living off of it and so they are providing for themselves but at the same time all the glory and pride they are gathering in their lives - well the bible says that pride comes before the fall and so many of them are falling today because of the use of it all. But, they are still willing to pay the price to get all that glory or get in the magazine and be around people. There is a lot of money going into their body, like $3,000 - $4,000 a month. I don't know how they make it today. It's amazing, but that's their business and I have to tend to my own business. God's given me a ministry to do so I have to do what the Lord has called me to do and pray for them.

10. If you were to die today and go to heaven, what would you like to hear God say?

Anything He wants to! Because anything He says, well it's just going to be a blessing just to be there!

Thank you so much Bob for participating in our interview, you are such a blessing!

It took us some time to find him but it was well worth it.
"Although all of Bob Birdsongs wins came in the 70's, Bob competed successfully until 1989. He was known for having great overall development. In fact, when Arnold commentated ABC's coverage of the 1984 Pro World Championships (at which Bob placed 4th) he used Bob to illustrate the muscles being judged. Bob is featured in the book Pumping Iron."

Arnold Schwarzenegger:
Testified in the early 80′s that he gets all his strength and vitality from his faith. In an interview he said “I feel like a tool in the hands of Jesus, and I do my best cos I have his spirit inside of me. Each day I wake up and thank him for giving me another day to serve, another day to do good, another day to praise him”.

(To be fair we the public haven't heard of Arnolds faith for a long while. Only God knows. But it is amazing what Arnold has managed to achieve. We pray that the almighty will bring him to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Deep rooted true faith can grow if the Heavenly Father gives the increase.
George's Favorite Scripture. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. www.georgeforeman.com/preacher.html

Psalms 1
One of George's messages. No man should say "God has given me anger," because a true gift of God is self control. Anger, as a rule, is never something you get with your dog, your cat, your car, your food, or your clothes. Anger is something you get with people. As the old song goes, "you always hurt the ones you love." And the people you love are the ones you never should hurt at all. If in fact the teaching is to Love your enemies,

Bless those who curse you, Be good to those who hate you, Pray for anyone who uses you: What can anger pointed at love ones do? You see Anger is a funny little spirit; it's sneaky, cunning, and most of all dangerous.

Anger moves quickly, leaving a person no time to deal with it's ingredients. Anger is like bread, with all you put in it, sometimes the smallest substance is the yeast. But without that very yeast, there is no bread as most of us know it.

SHE GOT ME ANGRY. HE HURT ME. I'VE GOT TO GET EVEN. I AM A MAN. TREAT ME LIKE A WOMAN. MY CHILDREN. MY MONEY. MY PEOPLE. MY PRIDE.

We put all these things into "the mixing bowl;" but like wheat, rye, white, and French the yeast makes up the bread. Murder, Revenge, Getting drunk, Adultry, Wife beating, Husband shooting... Some people abandon their children, and ten years after you ask that man or woman why did he or she did it and most, if they are honest, will simply say, "I just got angry."

So you see anger is the yeast, that little thing that pops-up and causes us to do everything that we felt we would not do.

In case Houston is just too far email George and ask him any
question you may have about The Doctrine of Love.

Bill Kazmaier is the World's Greatest Strongman!
He is a philanthropist in every definition of the word. He gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and has spent MANY years touring the country reaching out to children.

He opens their eyes and ears with great feats of strength, opens their hearts with his testimonial of the strength of love, and saves their souls with the word of God.

He has toured with the YMCA, a Strength Team, Strive, and MET-Rx around the country reaching out to Armed Forces, Business Executives, Children, and Lost Teens alike, just trying to do the one thing he promised he would do as he won his third Worlds Strongest Man title: Give Back.

Bill Kazmaier is not only an exceptional human being, he just happens to be the strongest man to ever walk the earth, save one:

Jesus. In a time when only 5 men in the history of the world had benched 600 lbs, he did 600 FIVE TIMES RAW! He set numerous records, including World Record Total, Deadlift, Bench, Overhead DB Press, Thomas Inch etc... just to name a few.

His Total sets him apart from the rest of the powerlifters. 2425 is undoubtedly the most amazing lift every accomplished. Gary Frank's lifts were suited @ 2800. Gene Rylacheck with a suit gets 400 lbs OFF HIS BENCH ALONE!

No one has ever combined the three lifts in such a dominant manner, and in a time when the norm was 1gram a week, not 10grams a week with Slin, GH, IGF-1, PGF2, Myostatin Inhibitors etc... Bill Kazmaier was a man amongst boys and his prowess has yet to be touched today in the realm of Powerlifting.

Bill Kazmaier was also the Greatest Worlds Strongest Man Competitor to ever walk the face of the earth. He competed once and got 7 1sts, 2 2nds and a third.

There has never been such a dominating performance. He doubled 1005 Dollar Deadlift like it was a joke. He tossed the implements when others had to run with them. He squatted over 900 lbs when a shadow like Mariusz could only rep 700 7 times (not to mention Mariusz's 595 bench.)

Updated 18.00 Fri Oct 12 2007

Nigel Benn is auctioning off his belts and kit to complete his transformation from pugilist to preacher.

The former super-middlewaight champion said he has settled as a minister at a church in Majorca to which he is donating a chunk of the money from the auction.

The belts are expected to stir some serious interest at the auction

He said: "Me winning titles is not going to get me into heaven. Me knowing Jesus, that's what its all about."

The belts are expected to stir some serious interest at the auction.

"I actually don't have one boxing item in my house anymore.

"I look at the pain it caused my wife, my family and my kids so getting rid of them is the best way for me."

One of Nigel Benn's old boxing trainers was Jimmy Tibbs. Audio link.

The World's Strongest Man:
Paul Anderson was known as the "World's Strongest Man." He is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as well as Famous First Facts for lifting an incredible 6,270 pounds, the greatest weight ever raised by a human being. He is the last American to win the Olympic Gold medal in the Super Heavyweight division. His messages focused on Jesus Christ, family values, patriotism, and the free enterprise system.

This "gentle giant" credited his Olympic victory and other successes to the Lord. From the podium Paul used his influence as a Christian athlete to instill moral standards and set spiritual goals for our nation's youth. The booming voice of the world's strongest man mesmerized as well as inspired. In addition, he authored three books, numerous newspaper and magazine articles, poems, weightlifting courses, and a nationally syndicated newspaper column. More>>>>

Paul Anderson - The Strongest Man in Recorded History.

This is a fantastic story of one of America's greatest athletes and humanitarians.

After only three years of competitive lifting, Paul Anderson had become a national hero and world renowned as “THE STRONGEST MAN OF THE CENTURY”.  In 1956 he traveled to Melbourne, Australia, were he won a gold medal in the Olympic Games. He was the last American heavyweight lifter to do so.

By 1957 he had established 18 American and  9 World Records, and in June of 1957 he lifted 6,270 pounds in a backlift: a feat most believe will never be equalled.
Many experts have described this modern-day Samson as the strongest man who has ever lived.

On February 29, 1992, in Orlando, Florida, at the first USA Power and Strength Symposium, Paul Anderson was recognized as
THE STRONGEST MAN OF THE CENTURY.

Since the late ‘50s he has traveled thousands of miles each  year sharing his message: love of God, Country, and the free-enterprise system. In 1961 he and his wife Glenda established the Paul Anderson Youth Home, which
provides Christian rehabilitation for young men who would otherwise be sentenced to juvenile or adult penal institutions.

Paul E. Anderson brief bio

Born Oct. 17, 1932, Toccoa, GA
Died  Aug. 15, 1994

Although his competitive career was very brief, Anderson may have been the best American weightlifter ever. He won the U. S. heavyweight championship in 1955 and 1956. After winning the world championship by a record margin of 82 pounds, he was strongly favored for the 1956 Olympic gold medal. He had a hard time winning it, which he did while he was recovering from strep throat.

Needing 187.5 kilograms in his third lift to match Humberto Selvetti of Argentina, Anderson failed twice but made the lift on his third and final try. He won the medal because he weighed thirteen pounds less than Selvetti.

Anderson went on to set many records as a professional powerlifter, including a bench press of 627 pounds, a squat of 1,200, and a dead lift of 820. On June 12, 1957, he lifted the greatest weight ever, 6,270 pounds in a back lift off trestles.

DENNIS TINERINO: More>>>>
A former Mr. America and four-time Mr. Universe, Tinerino was a bodybuilding star and actor during the 1960s and 1970s. The Brooklyn native competed with Arnold Schwarzenegger for the title of Mr. Universe in 1967 and appeared in Schwarzenegger's first movie, Hercules in New York.
But Tinero eventually landed in prison after getting entangled in organized crime and operating an escort service. He accepted Christ while incarcerated after striking up a long-distance relationship with former Mr. South Africa Ray McCauley, who became a prominent pastor in South Africa.
Tinerino was later baptized in the Holy Spirit and founded Dennis Tinerino Ministries in 1979. He preached across the U.S. and in dozens of countries, including South Africa, Japan, Ukraine, Greece and Australia. Friends and ministry associates say Tinerino's ministry touched millions of lives.

"We called him a prophetic evangelist because in all my years I never heard a guy who was more bold," said Tinerino's pastor, Graham Cathers of Living Faith Christian Church in Northridge, Calif. "He didn't care who you were or where he was, he was going to make sure you heard the gospel."
"His nickname was The Sermonator, jokingly," Cathers added.

Tinerino chronicled his spiritual journey in the 2006 book Super Size Your Faith.

SHARON SIEBERT on May 8th, 2010 9:21 am More>>>>>>
I had the pleasure of getting to know him from his ministry. He visited my church the Village of Faith Church in Farmingville Long Island Ny. I was so moved by what he preached about I remembered buying the video tape right afterward. Although I have such a vast library of tapes and dvds and cds it will become quite the undertaking (no pun intended) to look for his today! I have often asked my pastor Dan Cotrone how come Dennis hasn’t come back lately for a visit again? He didn’t really have an answer for me…sad news….my

son Christopher was so impressed about his natural bodybuilding prowess that he had asked Dennis for an autograph after church. He gave him an old pic of him from those days and autographed it. It still adorns my sons wall in his room today! When I told him yesterday of Dennis’s passing he was so saddened by the news…rest with the angels my friend fly high! amen..

Pastor Vincent Buonfiglio on May 10th, 2010 5:29 pm

MY dear friend Dennis IS a mighty man of God, although he is not with us any longer here on Earth, I know that Dennis’ desire is for all of former bodybuilding competitors, and friends is that one day, you too can join him in the presence of our Heavenly Father! I know that Dennis ministered salvation to anyone who would hear him out.

Dennis desired for everyone to rise out of traditional religion and come into a true deep relationship with the Lord Jesus! Just ask the Lord to come into your heart, forgive you of your past sins, and to fill you with His Holy Spirit! This is truly what Dennis would want of you today!

I will miss my dear friend Dennis, but I take great comfort in knowing that one day I will be reunited with Dennis and my Dad and all those who went ahead of me!

To be fair most people who I have ever spoken to have no idea what Jesus came to save us all from.
I ask people and the say. I don't know. Well the eternal Word of God found only in the Holy Bible says in so many words that Jesus came to save us all from the eternal lake of fire. Yes that right. Jesus came from Heaven to save us from the eternal consequences of all our sins. Jesus is our English name for Jesus Hebrew name Yeshua meaning Salvation or Savior. People are tricked into thinking that Jesus is just another religion when Jesus is actually almighty God who created us all but in human flesh. People can often at this point say. Hey Jesus is the Son of God isn't he ? Their thinking is Jesus can not be God because he is the Son of God.

Well the Bible is perfectly clear about who Jesus is. The Holy Scripture reveals that Jesus is the creator of all things seen and unseen and that all authority in Heaven and Earth has been given to Him. Jesus is the way the truth and the life and that no-one can come to the Heavenly Father except through Him, and that Jesus is the one and only savior of the world. Having died for all our sins and having risen from the dead to never die again. I have so much to say about the goodness of God that I would have to copy out the whole Bible to tell you, and you would have to spend your whole life listening to all the peoples testimonies of how Jesus saves. You could have all this wonderful knowledge and still not know Jesus as you own personal Lord and Savior. Die in the night and still end up at the Last Judgment to end up in the eternal lake of fire. Why ?

Well its because knowledge in itself doesn't deal with your sin that separates you from the almighty. The only person who can set you free from your sins is the one who paid for them. Jesus.
The Bible says in Act 2. "All that call on the name of the Lord will be saved". You can not call out if you don't know who to call out to. Now here is the reason for this web site. The name of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ. Most have heard of God the Father God the Son Jesus and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible gives this clarity. One God in three persons. God the Father sent God the Son to the earth to live amongst sinful men and to ultimately offer up in love His sinless life to die on the Cross to pay the death penalty that our sins deserve. Yes that right we, that's you and me. We deserve death as the punishment for our sins, but Jesus died in our place so that we could go free.

Not free to sin and sin and sin but free to now serve God and to be free from the guilt and the condemnation that sin deserves. Ultimately free from spending eternity in the Lake of fire. Free to spend eternity in Heaven with God and all who have been saved in our immediate family and all over the world from the beginning. God commands us all to repent, meaning turn from sin to Christ. Believe Jesus died and rose from the dead. Confess Jesus as Lord. Live by faith in Jesus asking for forgiveness. Look up John 3 v 3 in your Bible.

The Afterlife

Discover Four Simple Laws ...and solve life's greatest mystery

LAW 1: GOD IS HOLY AND JUST

In civil law, a good judge must punish crime. If he turns a blind eye to injustice, then he is corrupt and he himself should be punished.

"Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before your face" (Psalm 89:14).

In one ten year period in the United States, 63,000 murderers were never brought to justice. These were unsolved crimes. If God turns a blind eye to those murderers, then He is corrupt by nature. It makes sense that if He is good and just, He should be angry with those who have taken the lives of others, and He should punish murderers, rapists, etc.

This is the teaching of the Bible—that God will "by no means clear the guilty." He "will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil," "God is angry with the wicked every day."

LAW 2: THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH

"...sin is transgression of the Law" (1 John 3:4)

Let's look briefly at the Ten Commandments, and see if we have kept God's Law:

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me

  2. You shall not make for yourself a graven image

  3. You shall not take God's name in vain

  4. Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy

  5. Honor your father and mother

  6. You shall not murder

  7. You shall not commit adultery

  8. You shall not steal

  9. You shall not lie

  10. You shall not covet
Before we say we have obeyed the Commandments, this is what someone would be like if he kept the Law—he will always love God with "all of his heart, mind, soul, and strength," and love his neighbor as much as he has loved himself. He has never made a god to suit himself (either with his hands or in his mind). He has always given God's name reverence, kept the Sabbath holy, honored his parents implicitly, and never once has he been "angry without cause." He has never hated anyone, had lust in his heart, or had illicit sex. He has never stolen even a paper clip or ball point pen, or told as much as a "white" lie, and not once desired anything that belongs to someone else. He is, and always has been "pure in heart," perfect in thought, word, and deed.

The truth is, we are not like that. We have all "sinned" many times, and therefore we have stored up God's wrath, which will be revealed on Judgment Day. The proof that we have sinned will be our death, and after death we must face God in judgment. Think of it—if He has seen our every thought, word, and deed, and if He is going to bring all our sins out as evidence of our guilt on the Day of Judgment, we will all be found to be guilty. Our conscience has shown us right from wrong; we will be without excuse. God will give us justice, and Hell will be the place of our eternal punishment. "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known."

LAW 3: GOD IS RICH IN MERCY TO ALL THAT CALL UPON HIM

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us..." (Ephesians 2:4).

A youth once borrowed a fast car, and in a drunken stupor, sped through his home town at 120 m.p.h. Since everything was horse-drawn in his country town, there was no laws against speeding. So the council passed a law saying that 60 m.p.h. was the maximum speed, and that any transgressors would be fined $100 for every m.p.h. over the speed limit.

On his way back through the town, the speedster decided to pull the same prank. He was apprehended, tried, and found guilty by his father, who was the town's only judge. He was fined $6,000, and because he had no money and no words of defense, the youth was led off to prison.

As he sat in despair in prison, his father appeared at the door, and told him that he had sold all is own prized possessions and paid the fine for him. The son couldn't believe that he loved him that much. They embraced as they never had before, and walked off in a new-found relationship, bounded together with love.

That's a picture of what God did for us through the Gospel.

We have all broken the Law a multitude of times, but God came to this earth in the person of Jesus Christ, and paid the fine for us?"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Christ Jesus our Lord."

THE GOODNESS OF GOD

Jesus satisfied Eternal Justice, then rose from the dead, so that God can grant us eternal life. But just as we cannot earn a gift, so we cannot earn eternal life by our good works?"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone boast."

LAW 4: ETERNAL LIFE IS IN JESUS CHRIST

"He who hears My word and believes on Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life" (John 5:24).

Life's greatest mystery, death, was destroyed by the One who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." The Bible says, "He who has the Son, has life..."

To find the way to God, to understand the truth of God's Word, and to received the gift of eternal life, begin by repentance and faith through a prayer like this:

"Dear God, I understand that I have broken Your Law and sinned against You. Please forgive my sins. I repent from sin and turn to you Lord God. Thank You that Jesus suffered on the cross and died in my place. I believe according to the Bible that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day and is alive forevermore. I now place my trust in Jesus Christ as My God and Savior and confess him as Lord. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

If you have repented and trusted in Jesus, then you can now partake of the blessings of "the New Covenant." Here are just ten of God's exceedingly great and precious promises:

  1. You have passed from death into life.

  2. God will supply all of your needs according to His riches.

  3. Jesus will be with you in trials, promising never to leave nor forsake you.

  4. The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, and give you the power to live a holy life.

  5. You are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ—God has removed your sins as far as the east is from the west.

  6. As you abide in Christ, you will see the "fruits" of His Spirit begin to manifest in your life.

  7. As you read the Bible daily, it will come alive to you and cause you to grown in your faith.

  8. When you pray, God will hear you and answer your prayers.

  9. The cross will be continual evidence of God's love for you.

  10. As you continue in the faith in Jesus. God will "keep you from falling, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory, with exceeding joy."

  11. Search the Scriptures daily, and see what God has in store for those who love Him; find yourself a Jesus-centered, Bible-teaching church and commit yourself to it.

May God continue to bless you as you obey Him.

Stan of Stan's Gym the owner and founder of Stan's Gym in Upminster became a born again Christian back in April 1990. An injured left shoulder had caused Stan to become desperate for healing, so in despair one Sunday morning Stan cried out to Jesus as God and with a repentant heart Stan asked Jesus to forgive his sins and to take his life. Stan then asked Jesus to heal his shoulder.

Jesus healed Stan's shoulder immediately and forgave him all his sins. Jesus came into Stan's life and dwelt in him by His Spirit. This was the beginning of Stan's journey following Jesus as his Lord and savior.

Jesus had become Stan's best friend thanks be to God. Over the next few years Stan baptized in the Holy Spirit went though the waters of full baptism in a baptist Church in Harlow. Stan's love for Jesus only began when Jesus came into his life and saved him from his sins and the eternal consequences of his sins.
Stan's desire to see others saved from the lake of fire consumes him. Jesus healed Stan's knees in 2008 when Alan and Betty asked Jesus to. Alan also asked Jesus to restore Stan's training. Watch the video and see how God answers prayer. Whatever faith you have in Jesus as Lord, please let it grow. www.stansgym.com

Then Jesus said to them, (Speaking about himself as the Christ) “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem[i] until you are endued with power from on high.” (THE HOLY BIBLE LUKE 24 VS 46-49)
